چکیده

As a result of increasing environmental temperature, use air conditioner (AC) has become very popular specially in the urban areas mostly during warmer months year. Exposure to cold, dry AC on regular basis can cause various alternations lung functions users which lead many future diseases. These be influenced by temperature at is regulated. This cross-sectional study was conducted observe effects and variation peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) apparently healthy adult male female living Dhaka city, Bangladesh. The group (group A) consisted 48 who were exposed for least 6 hours per day minimum 5 days week past 2 4 years. They divided into two subgroups based Group A1 24 subjects (12 12 female) years where constantly regulated between 18° C 22°C. A2 same period time but 23°C 25°C. control B) similar number age, gender, BMI socioeconomically matched did not nearly all. Actual, predicted percentage value PEFR estimated both using Minato Autospiro AS-507. Statistical analysis done unpaired Student’s ‘t’ test p 0.05 taken as level significance. In this mean actual (%) significantly lower comparison nonusers case female. Between groups users, 18°C 22°C Use reduce associated with more reduction users.

Pulmonary functions in air conditioner users.

Air conditioning may affect human health since it has profound effect on our environment, than just lowering temperature. The present study was planned to assess the effect of air conditioners (AC) on pulmonary functions in young healthy non-smoker males. The study group comprised of ten subjects who were using AC's in their cars for at least 1 hr daily since last 6 months. While ten subjects w...

Pulmonary function tests in air conditioner users

Air-conditioners (AC) are devices/systems that are used indoors to cool air by reducing the humidity of the air following condensation of the water vapour. It is observed that hyperventilation of cold dry air causes bronchoconstriction in asthmatic patients. [1,2] Modern styles of living in urban areas are considered potentially responsible for the development of airway allergic diseases due to...

Effect of Condenser Air Flow on the Performance of Split Air Conditioner

Split air conditioning units are usually used for small and medium scale residential buildings. Therefore, more energy efficiency and lower cost are needed along with reliable control for the air conditioning units. An experimental investigation has been carried out to study the performance of a direct expansion air conditioning (A/C) unit having a variable speed condenser fan. The modulation o...
